True scale: the garden, beds, structures and plant canopy circles all use feet. A plant with a 3-foot mature spread occupies a 3-foot-diameter footprint.
Expanded plant catalog: use search to pull plant names from the Perennial Garden Library. When detailed mature-spread data is not available, the planner uses a conservative planning footprint that you can edit in Garden Coach.
Plant visuals: plant symbols are top-down botanical vector canopies rather than identical circles. Their diameter still represents mature spread.
Companion overlay: green lines show nearby pairings in the curated companion set; red lines flag pairings generally better separated. Companion planting is secondary to light, airflow, soil, rotation and spacing.
Seasonal shade: trees, sheds, fences and greenhouses project estimated shadows that change with season, time and orientation.
Water planning: add spigots, rain barrels, sprinklers, drip lines and hose routes. Water sources display approximate reach so you can see which beds and plants may be inconvenient to irrigate.
Save / export: layouts remain local to this device under the existing Perennial plan storage and can be exported as JSON.
